Upper Endoscopy

Understanding Colonoscopy

Some insurance companies will allow us to do endoscopy procedures in our office. This may be a cost effective means for you to have your endoscopy procedure. Our specially trained staff of nurses are able to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our procedure patients. Ask your physician if you are eligible for office endoscopy.

HELPFUL TIPS FOR OFFICE ENDOSCOPY

  • The nurse will give you detailed procedure preparation instructions. Follow them exactly and call the nurse if you have questions.

  • On the day of the procedure wear comfortable clothing. You may want to wear socks.

  • Leave jewelry, money, and other valuables at home.

  • Do not wear contact lenses.

  • You will be given sedation for the procedure, therefore: you must have a driver that is able to stay with you. Your relative or friend should wait in the reception area for you during the procedure.

  • You will be given a time to report to the office on the day of the procedure. Remember every patient is different and some procedures take longer than others. When it is your turn you will have the complete attention of the endoscopy staff. Please be understanding of waiting times.
